Vlogmas Day 19: Let’s Make Christmas Bread!

Happy Vlogmas Day 19, Guys! Today, let’s make Christmas Bread!!!! I am using my pullman pan for mine, but you can definitely make this in a traditional loaf pan. Sorry this video is on the longer side, but I really wanted to make it for newbie bread bakers out there, who want to attempt this recipe…..and need a little extra viewing to get theirs just right. We will also be making an Orange Icing to top our bread with! This bread is perfect for the holiday’s…..as well as to bag up and give as a gift! Let me know if you give it a try, and tell me what you think! ๐Ÿ˜€

  1. Hi
I trained as a chef in the Scottish Highlands and love your channel a great deal!!! In commercial kitchens, we would use a proving oven for raising bread. The home equivalent would be a large tray of boiling water on the base of your turned off oven, to create a warm moist yeast rising environment. On some occasions the bread being baked would not have that tray removed, makes a softer textured bread. Hope this info may help some folks!! You have taught me a great deal. thankyou. where do get all your energy from!!! I marvel.

    Kindest regards
Neil [ Lochness Scottish Highlands ]

  2. This is exactly what we need at our house for Christmas. Our last name ends in “ski,” We serve eggs and polish sausage with a sweet bread on Christmas morning. I would love to make this for my family to enjoy. Thanks for sharing Heather (and Noreen!). And thanks for reminding me I have under counter lights I can use for dough rising — I always forget to turn them on!

  3. Can I make this in a regular loaf pan? Does it change the bedtime? Would it change any ingredient amount? I’ve been looking for something to give my sisters-in-law for Christmas and this looks like a winner!

  4. Hi Heather ๐ŸŽ„. OMG can’t you believe it’s nearly that time again!!? ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
This bread looks Devine!! Such a beautiful thing….raisin toast on steroids! lol ๐Ÿ˜‚
I soo wish my son didn’t have a gluten allergy ๐Ÿ˜” or I’d try to make this bread for Christmas!! Don’t ya love how teenage boys enjoy their food!! Watching them devour your home cooked food is soo gratifying!! You’re right too….it is like they inhale it haha!!
Ps. You’re such a nice person making bread for your ex’s mrs!!! ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜„
Pps. I bet orange juice instead of milk in the icing would be nice too!?

  5. I am making it today right now and I loved watching you!!!!!!๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š

  7. Hi Heather! I just discovered your channel during the Holidays while I was searching for some great bread recipes on YouTube. You have a lovely personality and are beyond talented so I was happy to subscribe to your channel. I do have a question if that’s ok…in your opinion, would it be feasible to use a bread machine to prepare this Christmas bread dough, then form it into loaves by hand and put in a loaf pan? My question also applies to the Honey Buttermilk bread video that I just watched. (YUM) Hubby is waiting for freshly baked bread, so I’ve got work to do! My hands are very mobility challenged from severe arthritis, that’s why I’m asking about the machine. I was wondering if it would effect the quality of the bread in a negative way. Thanks for your time, love your channel. Blessings in 2017! ๐ŸŒน

  8. I have the Australian Mackeys pan we call it, expensive but fantastic, I have two of them, I always make two loaves of bread at the same time ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ‘

  9. How can you tell if the bread is done in a Pullman pan? I mean, are you pulling the lid back all the time to check the color, or do you take it’s temp? You said sometimes you need to wait 5 minutes to get the lid off easily, so……?

  10. This was fantastic I don’t have that pan yet!!! So I made it in 2 pans it was great How do,you keep,it from drying out so quickly??? We got most of it ate I put it on a cake plate I didn’t use as much icing as you as me and mom are diabetics so held back and just drizzled on top.. Thx for any help love my Kitchen Aid this wouldn’t be possible without it with my hands!! Thx Shey
