  1. …and don’t forget good old porridge: 1 part oats to 2 parts liquid. A cheap ‘good carb’ breakfast; make with water instead of a plant milk if you’re skint. Add flax, berries, nuts, fruit, cocoa powder etc, depending on what’s in the cupboard. A 1kg bag of oats is 75p in Tesco and Aldi. Sweeten porridge with dried fruit or a ripe banana instead of white sugar for a much healthier way to please your sweet tooth. I stir a little peanut butter into mine for a lovely creamy texture.
