Simple Tofu Recipe (VEGAN)


RECIPE
Ingredients:
180 gr tofu
FOR THE SAUCE
3 tablespoons of mirin
1 tablespoon of maple syrup
1 tablespoon of white miso
2 1/2 tablespoons of corn starch
the juice of half small lemon (optional)
MIX ALL THE INGREDIENTS (EXCEPT TOFU) TO MAKE THE SAUCE. Crumble your tofu and cook it in the fry-pan with the sauce until it gets gold.
You can use this tofu as a topping for your rice or whatever you wish. In the video, we’re having it with somen (thin noodles).

  3. I don’t know why, but tofu has always scared me (to *make* it, not to eat it, lol), but this video made it very approachable👏🏼👏🏼 Can I omit the corn starch or use something else instead? Btw, you two are too cute together 😍😍

  4. Looks good! Really enjoying the recipe videos!
    Quite a lot of Japanese food is handy for vegan alternatives. Tofu can be blended to make ‘sour cream’ or ‘cream cheese’ and also good for binding burgers, white miso can be used to make a ‘cheesy’ flavour in dressings, mochi flour can make ‘stringy cheese’.
    I veganised Gyudon- from the Cooking With Dog recipe, using aduki beans instead. And it’s really good! I also made vegan brownies using mashed up aduki beans.
