In this tutorial you will be shown how to successfully flood ice your cookies and how to decorate with royal icing.
This video will show you three different festive designs but once you have learnt the key skills from this tutorial you will be able to apply these to your very own designs.
The royal icing in the video was made using Meri White but you can also use a Royal Icing Mix (both of these products can be found at the link above)
For Royal Icing with Meri White dissolve 75g of Meri White in 500ml of cold water & place in a grease free bowl fitted with beater. Gradually add 3kg of icing sugar (confectioners sugar) on slow speed, beating until a firm peak is obtained.
Recipe can be halved if needed.
100g Icing Sugar (Confectioners Sugar)
100g Caster Sugar
2 Large Eggs
1 Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
500g Plain Flour
200g Unsalted Butter
Extra Flour for rolling
Mix together Sugar, Vanilla and Egg. Add the Flour and Butter until the mixture comes together. Chill for 2 hours. Bake at 170°C for 15-20 min.
