WHY I BECAME A VEGAN?
I became vegan because of health reasons, although I love the animals, health was the leading factor. I got sick and tired of being sick and tired. I had became diabetic was on medication and rapidly going down hill.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN VEGAN?
I started as a vegetarian over 20 yrs ago (not a good one) July 4, 2011 I watch the documentary Fat, Sick nearly Dead and decided to change my life. I haven’t looked back since.

WHY CALL YOURSELF THE URBAN BLACK VEGAN?
I wanted to show black people there is a way to fight many of the chronic diseases, and health related issues that are ravishing our community. I wanted to use myself as an example of what a good diet coupled with fitness can serve as a solution to many of our community health challenges.

Also after cruising Youtube I found one common thread, many of the health and wellness channels didn’t feature black people. So hopefully this is the start of something.

  1. I love how simple you made the process. I liked cookingwithplants but I think you spin was more nature in the sense that you use all whole ingredients aside from the stevia powder. Great vid! You just earned a new subscriber.

  2. The recipes I used to see for vegan Mayo at home started out with two cups of oil. I love Anya and cooking with plants! I have been subscribed to her for quite a while. She also makes a tofu mayonnaise 🙂

  3. Just under 3 minute video and you talked nothing for nearly 2 of them and then we had to adjust the volume as the music was far to loud and annoying while trying to read the rushed through food prep / recipe… which was supposed to be the purpose of the video !

  4. Found you through cooking with plants!!!! Love what ur doing brother. I don’t enjoy the taste of soy at all, and nuts are expensive lol. Now potatoes I can get down with.
