So what are some healthy breakfast foods for kids? Many kids today are going off to school without any breakfast at all, and this really isn’t the best way to send our kids off to school where they are going to be sitting and listening and learning without any fuel in their body. So my first recommendation would be start with any kind of breakfast, and the easiest one might be leftovers from the night before. Leftovers are fine, we don’t always have to start our breakfasts off with something sweet and sugary. We can start off with a lunch or a dinner from the night before. Another simple breakfast suggestion might be something simple like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, which can be quick and on the go and super nutritious. Some other things that might be good for kids would be fresh fruit, oatmeal with blueberries on the side, maybe a smoothie, eggs can work for breakfast. A lot of kids like whole grain waffles or pancakes, or you can even do toast with a nice jam on it. Another thing you can do is trail mix; it’s loaded with nutrition with the nuts and seeds, and it’s quick and you can prepare it the night before and have it on the go. And finally there’s yogurt. But remember any breakfast is better than no breakfast at all. So go ahead and try some of these breakfast choices.
