Gobble | Easy Christmas Dinner

Merry up the festive season with this easy-to-make Christmas dinner!


For the Apple Pie Bread Pudding:
2 apples (peeled and cubed)
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp brown sugar
2 eggs
400 ml milk
4 tbsp powdered sugar
A loaf of bread

For the Roast Chicken:
2 chicken breasts
1 orange (sliced)
1 apple (sliced)
3-4 tbsp Balsamic Vinegar
Garlic butter
Fresh Thyme
Fresh oregano
Fresh Rosemary


Apple Pie Bread Pudding
1. In a pan put butter to melt and add brown sugar when it starts to boil
2. Add chopped apples and cinnamon into the pan and turn off the stove when the apples are caramelised
3. Cut bread loaf into small pieces and place them at the bottom of a casserole to make a layer
4. In a bowl break two eggs and whisk
5. Add milk, powdered sugar and whisk again
6. Pour this mixture onto the bread pudding and top it off with apples
7. Bake at 180°C for up to 30 minutes and then serve with a scoop of Vanilla ice cream

Roast Chicken
1. Place chopped apples and oranges in a oven proof casserole
2. Add fresh Rosemary, Thyme and then place the two chicken breasts on top
3. Slit both the chicken breasts and add salt, pepper and Balsamic Vinegar
4. Glaze the chicken with melted garlic butter and put to bake at 200°C for 15-20 minutes
5. Take the chicken out and Baste it with the juice in the casserole and garlic butter
6. Put it back in the oven and bake again till chicken is fully cooked
