Gluten Free Seitan Style Roast – Tasty Vegan Meat Substitute!

This gluten free seitan style roast is a great vegan meat substitute for anyone transitioning to a plant based diet, or for anyone that has been vegan for years and is just looking for something tasty to eat 🙂

It is super easy to make and tastes delicious hot or cold.

I like to use it on sandwiches or eat it with mashed potatoes and gravy!

  1. Looks fantastic. Worth a try – brilliantly done. Just gone vegan and am enjoying your 2 steps ahead of me journey. I have a freaking amazing pad Thai vegan recipe if you want 🙂

  2. Why didn’t you just put it in a loaf tin and cover with foil? The foil doesn’t need to touch the surface of the food and can quickly be removed if you need to finish the dish uncovered.

  3. I’m so excited to find this! I have been very high raw vegan for about 8 months and never buy store bought vegan meat substitutes! I was interested in the Seitan as an option because I can make that at home but I just recently figured out that I have Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity! It’s awful! Literally within a day or two of me eating wheat or having a vegan beer I want to jump in front of a bus because I am so depressed! I don’t have celiac disease, but this gluten sensitivity can be happening to 30% of all people and they may not even know it! Especially if you eat wheat all the time! I didn’t figure out until I went high raw and stopped eating bread, but I would “splurge” every 3-5 weeks and within a day or two I would have so much depression and anxiety that I would just want to jump out of my skin! In my research I have found that it can be linked to depression, anxiety, panic attacks, mood disorders, bipolar and even schizophrenia! So please, if anyone is struggling with brain fog or mood disorders, please try going gluten free for 2 weeks! I am always feeling better within a week of getting it out of my system! So if you can’t figure out what is going on with your mood, you should definitely try gluten free! It might not be your problem, but it would be the most simple fix if you figured out that it was! I really hope this helps someone! I wish you all the best of health! Thank you so much for this wonderful recipe as well!

  5. Best looking unmeat loaf I’ve seen. Looks and sounds delish. I have been watching you for some time but just subscribed. I’m gluten free and no oil so hope to learn a lot. Santa has to bring me a processor. They look expensive. Any recommendations?

  6. HI …I WAS WONDERING DOES IT HAVE A FLOUR TASTE DUE TO THE CHICK PEA AND RICE FLOUR? …..DO THE 2 FLOURS BECOME ABSORBED WELL DURING THE OVEN COOKING STAGE? THANK YOU SO MUCH
