  1. As an American, I must say that we are missing out terribly! I’ve always loved spiced cakes and cookies and love the traditional foods just as much as modern. But Christmas pudding doesn’t really exist over here and the closest we have to it is bread pudding (which is tasty in its own way). I tried this today and it was AMAZING! My first try of Christmas pudding. My grandmother would have loved it, God rest her, and I’m actually a little sad she’s not around to try it with me. But my husband absolutely loved it as well. Thank you so much for the great recipes!

  2. This is a winner. Thanks Steve!! I will be able to make one tomorrow 🙂
Oh, and will it be possible to add almonds or a little splash of whiskey or port in it?

  3. And here I was making my own peel, grinding my own mixed spice in a mortar, and rendering big chunks of suet mid November; Then stirring up great bowls of vegan AND suet AND nut free batters on Stir it Up Sunday, and leaning over steaming cookers with a do-rag on my head.
Next year, I’m lining up inexpensive mugs and giving out individually wrapped Personal Puddings, I swear.
Steve, you are The Emancipator. There is but a marginal return on the massive time investment required for the legacy recipes. To say nothing of the molds and crocks never brought back. Integrity is preserved by using fine ingredients and being okay with ‘close enough.’ Bless you.

  4. This looks amazing.  I can’t believe you’ve actually done a Christmas pudding in a mug.  I think I’m gonna try it.  Or maybe I’ll wait to see what the deluxe version is.   Oh and by the way YAY!!!!  You hit the 10,000 mark.  What an awesome feat.  There’s not a more deserving channel out there.   Well done. 🙂
