  1. Hi. Thank you for the video. I must have missed if you stated whether the BioChem brand protein is safe for the Slow Carb Diet, I’m looking currently for alternatives and I found Quest Bars to be fairly safe as of now. I get those in early in the morning upon waking.
    Just been a couple of days on the diet but so far, so good. Minus the chocolate cravings.

  3. Made the smoothie this morning for my breakfast, it was great! I like the ginger addition, puts a little spice into it all. Very delicious and nutritious. Thanks for the video tutorial.

    PS: It is amazing to me how many people are bashing this video and trying to add their own advice when they clearly don’t know that you’re following the slow carb diet and particularly following the advice from the 4 hour body.

  4. Drink is moderately good but the video was way too long. Chatty Kathy syndrome. You could’ve done it in half that time. Far too much fluff.

  5. I made this with a vegetable based protein powder, kale, and no expresso.

    I wasn’t particularly fond of the flavor, which is saying a lot as I’ve worked for many years in organic smoothie bars. I’m going to experiment and see if there is anything I can do to make this a bit more appetizing.

  6. May I ask what your issues where or are and how your resolving them? I did have H-Pylori three years ago I was treated twice for it and then ended up with C-Dif from the treatment and had an over growth of yeast. I haven’t been right sense. They sense tested me for it again and it came back negative and now the burning mouth and gut it only shows lots of inflammation but no reason why. I will definitely look in to the book. I just want to be able to eat again. thanks for all your input.

  7. Hi Allison do you have to add expresso? Why do you add that? Is there something to substitute for it? Breakfast is challenging for me as I am battling some kind of intestinal issue and burning mouth no one knows why. So I pretty much have been just eating veggies and meat. I tried making a veggie smoothie with lime omg I couldn’t get it down. I cant have any sugar right now. thanks

I have tried this breakfast smoothie and I love it!! I want to buy some more BioChem Egg Protein Powder in Vanilla and I noticed that this product is discontinued in Vanilla at iHerb (where I originally ordered it from) as well as at other online retailers as well. I also want to order the BioChem Whey Protein Powder in the Chocolate Fudge again and I can’t seem to find both of these products at any one online retailer for a price comparable to what iHerb charges. I live in Canada and I found the egg protein powder in chocolate at Amazon Canada but it is so expensive compared to what I paid for the same size in vanilla at iHerb and I prefer the vanilla anyway. They still carry the chocolate egg protein powder at iHerb but it is currently Out of Stock. Do you know if these two products are being phased out everywhere and if so, could you recommend alternatives that are comparable in price, taste and nutritional value and that would work with the slow carb 4 hour body diet. If these particular BioChem products are not being phased out everywhere, could you please tell me where I could find them both for a price similar to what I paid at iHerb: Egg Protein Powder Vanilla   $19.13 US for 15.4 oz (438g) and 100% Whey Protein Powder, Chocolate Fudge, 30.8 oz (879 g)  $36.72 US. Thank you. I appreciate any help that you can offer.

  9. Thanks so much for your videos and information on your website, I am a 4-hour body (slow-carb) advocate. I just found your website googling for information on different protein types and have already learned a great deal. I really like the above video and can’t wait to give it a try. As you mention, my problem has been getting hungry within an hour or two after drinking a protein shake; I like your ideas of adding avocados for some healthy fat, black beans for some carbs, and adding some coffee/espresso to add to the chocolate flavor.

    Also, check out TrueNutrition.com, you can create your own custom protein powder blend using an assortment of over 25 proteins, to include several whey, milk, grass-fed, egg, and vegan proteins. They have good descriptions of all the various proteins, and shows you all of the nutritional information of your custom blend as you create it.. They also have several flavoring and sweetening options as well, to include stevia. You can create you own blend and tweak it each time you order. As long as you order several pounds at a time to save on shipping, it is about the same or usually less than products you buy at the store, depending on your blend. Also, if you google you can always find a discount code, usually on their own facebook page. I am not a representative of their company and I have been creating my own blends for a couple years now and have been very satisfied with the consistency and quality of their products. Also, it is nice knowing exactly what is in your mix, and I feel the quality is probably better than what is sold in stores.

  10. Who in the world has 4 espresso shots of coffee for a breakfast smoothie?? Caffeine amounts in one espresso could be from 55mg-150mg, and you had 4 of those shots?? So anywhere from 2.5-6 redbulls in the morning..now thats healthy! You are putting the DIE, back in diet.
